Glass_Lifts_Dance
Act | Balance and Glass_Lifts_Dance are two installations by artist Tuli Litvak, created in her final year at Central Saint Martins. They were open to the public from 24 – 28 May 2017 (with a preview on 23 May) and could either be seen separately or at the same time, depending on the viewer’s vantage point. I performed in both of these installations on:
- Tuesday 23rd May, 16:00-18:30
- Thursday 25th May, 12:00-14:00
- Friday 26th May, 17:00-20:00
You were absolutely wonderful. I was struck by how versatile everyone’s approach was and it was fascinating to observe how each of you reacted to the space and to see your individual practices as well as the wonderful collaborations that occurred.

As a performer, I really enjoyed being in such close proximity with the audience – the brief conversations I had with people in the lift; the way I could make eye contact or have ‘movement dialogues’ with people around the glass structure … It felt very special. There was also something about the sunlight filtering through the windows and this very high ceiling which gave me a wonderful sense of space, air and freedom while dancing.
