The Performance Path is a 90-minute trail which takes walkers along Eastbourne’s seafront. They pause in 4 different locations to watch short solo dance performances and hear how each site inspired the corresponding choreography.
Three of the dances performed along the way were originally created as dance films in 2021. They were revisited and adapted for a live audience in 2022. The Performance Path also featured the world premiere of Bench Bustle, a new solo set on a bench. The full programme of performances offered along the path was:
Surfaces on Holywell Beach (re-enactment of the 2021 dance film)
Bone Upon Stone in the Italian Gardens (based on a 2021 music video)
Bench Bustle on the seafront promenade (new creation)
Diagonal Dance Extended at Towner Eastbourne (based on a 2021 dance film)
