Sleepwalk – The Dream of Lady Macbeth is an hour-long performance I co-created with the 3 musicians of Afrit Nebula and filmmaker Mark French. Based on an original concept and musical composition by Elaine Edwards, the piece reimagines the sleepwalk scene from Shakespeare’s Macbeth in the context of current wars and threats like the climate emergency. It also evokes other aspects of Shakespeare’s tragedy, such as the return of Birnam Wood and nature’s response to humanity’s ravages.
