Director Petina Hapgood invited me to choreograph a short version of the famous Bolero to end a 60 minute play by Tim Coakley. Titled ‘In Search of the Dance’, the play is a fantasia about French composer Maurice Ravel, his attempts to write a perfect piece of dance music, and his encounters with bizarre characters, strange apparitions and unpredictable events.
